Montverde Academy's girls volleyball team earned a hard-fought road victory Thursday night, defeating Lake Minneola 3–1 (28–26, 25–17, 11–25, 25–21).

Natalia Baquerizo had a standout performance at the net, finishing with 13 kills, eight blocks, two service aces, and three digs. Gabi Carvalho also made her presence felt with seven kills, five blocks, and five digs, while Mirea Thederahn provided balance with six kills, four service aces, two blocks, and three digs. Bianca Baquerizo added four kills in the win.

With the victory, the Eagles improve to 4–2 on the season.

The Eagles return to action Tuesday at Mount Dora, starting with the junior varsity game at 5:00 pm, followed by the varsity game at 6:00 pm

Earlier in the evening, the junior varsity team earned a 2-0 (25-15, 25-21) win over the junior varsity team from Lake Minneola to improve to 4-2 on the season.
