As Nakira Hudson blazes through her senior year at Montverde Academy, she is leaving behind a legacy defined by dedication, growth, and leadership. During her time at Montverde, Nakira has racked up state titles, consistently representing what it means to be a student-athlete, committed, driven, and focused both on and off the track.Â
"It's all about having a schedule," Hudson says. "And staying disciplined to the schedule, making sure I'm being responsible and going to bed on time."
Montverde Academy is known for its elite athletic culture and high academic standards, and Nakira has embraced that challenge since transferring in as a tenth grader two years ago.
"It was different as far as being around more like minded individuals and I adjusted by keeping my same morals," Hudson explained.
Competing in a demanding environment pushed her to elevate her game, sharpen her discipline, and develop confidence that extends beyond athletics. Whether it was the grueling practices, intense competitions, or balancing academics with athletics, Nakira showed resilience and determination throughout her journey.
Beyond her performance, Nakira's impact has been felt by the entire team and within the school community. As a teammate, she is known for her high work ethic, leadership, and her comedic personality. Her leadership by example helps set the tone for those around her and contributes to a strong team culture.
Looking ahead, Nakira is excited to take the next step in her journey. She will attend the University of South Carolina where she will be a member of the women's track & field team.
"I'm looking forward to the elite competition and better opportunities for my major, Sports Media," Hudson said.
The lessons she's learned at Montverde Academy, the time management, the accountability, and perseverance will stay with her long after she leaves Montverde Academy. No matter where the future takes her, she will carry forward the values and experiences that shaped her into the person she is today.
Montverde Academy is proud to celebrate Nakira Hudson and all she has accomplished. Her senior year marks not just an ending, but the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
