The Montverde Academy baseball team delivered an impressive offensive performance on Tuesday, defeating Trinity Prep 15-3 in a five-inning run-rule victory at Francisco Lindor Field on Tuesday afternoon.

*Montverde Academy served as the visiting team and batted in the top half of the innings as the game was originally scheduled to be at Trinity Prep, but was moved to MVA due to Trinity Prep's field being unavailable.

Montverde Academy seized control of the game immediately, plating four runs in the top of the first inning to jump out to an early lead. The Saints responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning, but the Eagles quickly extended their advantage.

Montverde added three more runs in the second inning to take a 7-2 lead, and the offense continued to surge in the third with four additional runs to push the margin to 11-2. With the bats staying hot and the pitching steady, MVA was never seriously threatened the rest of the way.

Tank Chavous led the MVA offense, going 4-for-4 with a double, three runs, and seven runs batted in.

Brody Welborn also had a strong performance, finishing 3-for-4 with a double, four runs scored, and one RBI. Santi Marin added a big swing with a home run, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Max Irving contributed a 2-for-3 outing that included a double and four runs scored, while Pablo Borbely went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

On the mound, Rainer Garcia earned the win for the Eagles. Garcia pitched all five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits while keeping Trinity Prep from mounting any sustained rally.

With the victory, Montverde Academy improves to 8-3 on the season.

The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they face Lafleche at the USSSA Complex in Viera, Florida. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
