Montverde, Fla. (March 17, 2026) – Missy Odom has been named the Montverde Academy Student-Athlete of the Week following a dominant stretch that showcased her impact both at the plate and in the circle for the softball team.
Odom opened the week with a strong showing in Montverde Academy's 3-0 road victory over East River High School, going 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI.
The next day, she delivered one of the most memorable performances in program history—throwing a no-hitter with 17 strikeouts in the circle, while going 2-for-3 with a walk and blasting a grand slam at the plate in a 7-0 win over Phillips Academy.
Odom has been one of the most productive hitters in the lineup for the Eagles so far this season. She leads the team with a .625 batting average (10-for-16), while also pacing the Eagles in on-base percentage (.727), slugging percentage (1.188), and OPS (1.914). Additionally, she ranks second on the team in home runs (3), runs batted in (9), and walks (7).
Odom's athletic excellence extends well beyond the softball field. She is also a key member of the girls basketball team. During the girls basketball season, she led the Eagles in scoring, averaging 21.3 points per game and ranked second on the team in rebounding averaging 9.1 per contest, further demonstrating her versatility as a multi-sport standout.
Odom is committed to continuing her academic and athletic career at Florida State University, where she will compete in both basketball and softball.
With her historic week and continued all-around excellence, Odom exemplifies the standard of achievement for Montverde Academy student-athletes.
Odom and the rest of the MVA softball team returns to the diamond on Wednesday, March 25 for a home game against Inspiration Academy at 6:00 pm.
