Montverde, Fla. (May 21, 2026) – Montverde Academy track & field will be represented this weekend at the Southeast Meet of Champions, hosted at the University of North Florida, as a group of Eagles—current student-athletes and recent graduates—continue competition on one of the region's top stages.
MVA enters the meet coming off a standout championship campaign, highlighted by the girls track & field team capturing the FHSAA State Championship—its second state title in the past three years. The Eagles also produced key relay success at the state meet, including a first-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay featuring Angelica Wolfe, DaQuana Howell, and Nakira Hudson.
Individually, several athletes also delivered championship performances. Grant Williams '26 won the FHSAA State Championship in the pole vault, while Nakira Hudson highlighted the meet with a dominant performance in the 400 meters, winning in a personal-best 53.24 seconds for her second consecutive state title in the event.
The meet is especially familiar territory for Montverde Academy athletes, as the University of North Florida was also the site of this year's FHSAA State Championships, where the Eagles delivered one of the program's most successful performances of the season.
