Montverde, Fla. (May 8, 2026) – Following one of the most memorable seasons in program history, Montverde Academy girls soccer standout Lola Rey has been named the Florida Dairy Farmers Girls Soccer Class 3A Player of the Year for the 2025-26 girls soccer season.
With the honor, Rey becomes just the eighth student-athlete in Montverde Academy history to receive a Florida Dairy Farmers Player of the Year award and the third girls soccer player in program history to earn the distinction.
Rey joins an elite group of Eagles that includes:
- 2018-19 — Jody Brown (Girls Soccer)
- 2021-22 — Micayah Holland (Girls Track & Field)
- 2021-22 — Micah Larry (Boys Track & Field)
- 2023-24 — Estefania Gonzalez (Girls Soccer)
- 2023-24 — Nevaeh Williams (Softball)
- 2024-25 — Grace Xu (Girls Golf)
- 2025-26 — Will Moss (Boys Cross Country)
Rey delivered a spectacular junior campaign while helping lead MVA to a state championship and a 21-1-1 overall record. The dynamic attacker finished the season with a team-high 27 goals, consistently producing in the biggest moments of the year.
Her postseason performances helped cement her status as one of the top players in the state of Florida. She recorded a hat trick in a dominant 5-0 victory over Pensacola Catholic in the state semifinals. She followed that performance by scoring the game-winning goal in MVA's 2-0 win over Cardinal Gibbons in the state championship match.
Throughout the season, Rey's creativity, pace, finishing ability, and leadership made her a constant challenge for opposing defenses. She played a central role in an Eagles squad that outscored opponents 93-6 during the season.
In addition to the Florida Dairy Farmers honor, Rey was previously named the Orlando Sentinel All-Area Player of the Year and earned Florida All-State recognition from United Soccer Coaches.
Rey's latest accolade further adds to MVA's growing legacy of excellence and reinforces the Eagles' place among the premier girls soccer programs in the state of Florida and United States.
