Montverde Academy's track and field program closed out the 2026 season with a strong showing at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor meet held June 18-21 at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
Leading the way for the Eagles was the girls 4x200-meter relay team of Nakira Hudson, Adriana Rodriguez, Daquana Howell, and Arima Turner, which earned a runner-up finish against some of the top competition in the nation. The quartet crossed the finish line in 1:36.10 to claim second place in the championship division.
Individually, Hudson and Rodriguez both competed in the highly competitive Girls 400-Meter Championship. Hudson placed ninth overall with a time of 54.38 seconds, while Rodriguez finished 11th in 54.61 seconds.
Howell represented Montverde Academy in the Girls 200-Meter Championship, running 24.29 seconds in the preliminary round, while Turner competed in the Girls 100-Meter Championship and recorded a time of 12.49 seconds.
On the boys side, Miles Outerbridge delivered one of the top performances of the meet for the Eagles. Outerbridge advanced through the preliminary rounds of the Boys 200-Meter Championship before finishing fifth overall in the national final with a time of 21.09 seconds. He also reached the semifinals of the Boys 100-Meter Championship.
Freshman pole vaulter Max Georgiev earned a top-eight national finish by tying for sixth place in the Freshman Boys Pole Vault competition after clearing 4.15 meters (13 feet, 7¼ inches).
Salvatore Scelfo represented the Eagles in the freshman distance events, posting a time of 1:59.12 in the 800 meters and 4:57.10 in the mile.
The performances capped another successful season for Montverde Academy Track & Field, which continued to showcase its talent on the national stage against the best athletes from across the United States.
