Coach Crowley Named UCF's Strength & Conditioning Preceptor of the Year

Montverde, Fla. (August 4, 2026) -- Montverde Academy Head Strength & Conditioning Tim Crowley has been named the 2025-26 Kinesiology Strength & Conditioning Preceptor of the Year by the University of Central Florida's Division of Kinesiology.

The annual award recognizes an outstanding preceptor who demonstrates excellence in mentoring and developing university students during their strength and conditioning internship experience. Recipients are selected based on feedback from UCF students who complete internships under the guidance of professional mentors.

Crowley earned this year's honor following overwhelmingly positive evaluations from UCF interns, who praised both his leadership and the culture created within MVA's performance program.

"Overall, Tim Crowley's leadership and culture he created provided an environment where interns were supported, challenged, and prepared for success beyond the internship, making him highly deserving of this award," one student wrote.

Another intern added, "Tim cared a lot about his interns and crafted an experience that I think helped all of us grow."

While appreciative of the recognition, Crowley was quick to credit Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coaches Brandon Nelson and Kate Snow, acknowledging their shared commitment to mentoring interns and helping foster an environment where future strength and conditioning professionals can learn, grow, and gain valuable hands-on experience.

"This award is a reflection of our entire performance staff," Crowley said. "Brandon and Kate play an important role in creating the environment our interns experience every day. We're grateful for the opportunity to mentor UCF students and help prepare them for careers in strength and conditioning."

Crowley joined MVA in 2012 and has spent more than a decade leading one of the nation's premier high school strength and conditioning programs. With more than 25 years of coaching and performance training experience, he has worked with athletes across virtually every sport while serving on the USA Triathlon National Team coaching staff and earning both USA Triathlon Development Coach of the Year and Elite Coach of the Year honors.

At Montverde Academy, Crowley oversees strength and conditioning programs for all athletic teams while also directing rehabilitation initiatives, nutrition education, and performance development. Under his leadership, the Academy has also become a valued internship site for aspiring strength and conditioning professionals, providing students with meaningful, real-world experience in a high-performance environment.
