GREENSBORO, N.C. – Freshman forward Edward Kizza of the University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team was named to the 2017 All-ACC Academic Team, the league announced Thursday.

A product of Montverde Academy in Florida, Kizza is undecided with a 3.31 semester GPA and 3.37 cumulative GPA.

The forward concluded his first year at Pitt with 11 points, second-best on the team, after burying four goals and recording three assists. Kizza netted two goals in the Panthers' 7-0 win versus West Virginia and scored one of the two goals in Pitt's first conference win in program history over No. 21 Syracuse. He started in 14 of 15 games played, logging 1,040 minutes.

Kizza was also named to the ACC All-Freshman Team alongside fellow freshman Alexander Dexter at the conclusion of the 2017 season. He becomes the seventh Panther in program history to earn the honor since Pitt joined the conference in 2013.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
