Montverde Academy's Head Tennis Coach Jaime Oncins has been awarded the Florida Dairy Farmers Coach of the Year award for the 2018 season.

Oncins coached both the boys and girls tennis teams, helping them make it to the state tournament after becoming district and regional champions in their division. The girls team earned their state runner up championship title and became the only female team in school history to make it to the state finals.

"I couldn't have been prouder of the way the girls performed this season" said Oncins, "They understood that tennis is not about the individual but the team."

The boys team went undefeated in their season with a record of 21-0 and won the state championship title for the second time in a row in their division.

"The boys team did great all year, not just in terms of their results but the way they built team spirit," said Oncins.

Coach Oncins and the MVA tennis teams look forward to an even better season next year and aim to win the state championships once again.
