The Montverde Academy boys' and girls' track & field team members continued to amaze this weekend with more personal best and school records at the Pepsi Florida Invite in Gainesville this weekend.
On the boys' side, Zyaire Nuriddin dominated once again dominated in the 400 meter dash. He not only won, but broke the 46 second barrier, blazing the way in a personal best 45.78 seconds. Not only was it a personal best, but it was the fifth fastest time in Florida high school track history and the 25th fastest time on record in American high school history.
Kyle Johnson set a new school record in the triple jump at 14.01 meters, eclipsing the previous mark of 13.76 set back in 2001 and finished second overall. In the pole vault, Alex Georgiev finished second overall at 4.65 meters.
On the girls' side, Micayah Holland won the 100 meter dash in 11.39 seconds which was the fifteenth fastest time on record in Florida high school history in that distance.
Also, Michelle Smith finished third overall in the 800 meter race in 2:10.93, while Javonya Valcourt was third in the 400 meter dash in 55.53.
