The Montverde Academy girls' volleyball team fell to Trinity Prep on Thursday evening, losing 3-0 (21-25, 19-25, 20-25) in their 2022 season opener.

The Eagles were led by Thalita Marangon with seven kills, five digs, four assists and two service aces. Bailey Hollis added 12 assists, two kills and two digs, while Gracie McClain had five digs and four assists. Evangeline DeClercq had three service aces, three digs, two kills and two blocks, while Hannah Herbert added five kills.

Earlier in the evening, the junior varsity gold team beat Trinity Prep 2-0 (25-16, 28-26). Koryn Scott led the way with eight kills, while Isabella Parra had 16 assists and four service aces.

The Eagles return to action on Friday for their home opener against Central Pointe Christian Academy. JV will play at 6:00 pm, followed by the varsity game at 7:30 pm.
