Montverde Academy girls' volleyball team defeated Windermere Prep 3-1 (22-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-17) to capture fifth place in the 2023 Citrus League season on Tuesday evening at the Nest.

The Eagles were led by Bailey Hollis who had nine kills, two service aces, three blocks, 15 digs and 15 assists, while Paola De Chavarria Munoz had six kills, 21 digs and 13 assists. Isabella Johnson had seven kills, while Catherine Emilcar had five blocks and Nybia Rivera-Alvarez added 20 digs.

Up next for the Eagles is the 2023 Bishop Moore Swing for the Cure tournament at Game Point Event Center in Orlando this Friday and Saturday. MVA will play Cardinal Newman in the first game on Friday at 5:00 pm, before doing battle against The Academy of Central Florida at 7:00 pm. On Saturday, the Eagles will play Manatee High School at 10:00 am before ending the weekend will two bracket games.
