The MVA girls' basketball team played its first of two preseason games on Tuesday evening in the Nest, and the Eagles defeated Riverview Sarasota High School 70-5.

Lourdes Da Silva Costa led with 14 points, followed by Vivian Iwuchukwu with 13 and Jaloni Cambridge with 12. The Eagles will have one more exhibition game at Dr. Phillips High School on Thursday before opening their 2023-24 regular season on Monday against Example Academy at the Inside Exposure Thanksgiving Classic in Jacksonville, FL.
