Montverde, Fla. (November 21, 2023)—Montverde Academy Department of Athletics has announced that girls' golf team member Victoria Renzi has been named the Montverde Academy Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 19, 2023.

Renzi, who had a great season all year, saved one of her best for the end as she finished in third place overall out of 95 golfers at the 2023 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 1A Girls Golf championship at Mission Inn in Howey-In-The-Hills, FL on November 14 and 15.

Competing as an individual qualifier for the match, the senior from Buenos Aires, Argentina golfed a 138 over two rounds at the championship meet. She golfed a 67 (-4) in the first round and a 71 (Even) in the second round, missing the top spot by just two strokes.

All season long, Renzi was a stalwart for the Eagles. She was the team's top finisher in seven events, and golfed either par or better five times, including the Knights Invitational on September 29 when she finished first place overall with a 68 (-4).

Renzi is a member of the International Junior Golf Association (IJGA). Her career ambition is to work in psychology. Renzi says her favorite thing about Montverde Academy is the friends that she has made from all around the world.

Additionally, by winning the award this week, Renzi becomes just the second MVA student-athlete to win the Student-Athlete of the Week multiple times in the same season. Renzi won MVA athletics' top weekly honor the first time on September 19 before this most recent honor. Emily Santos from the girls' swim team was the first to win it twice (October 3 and November 7).
