Montverde Academy's baseball team scored 15 runs in the second inning to run away with the game and end up with a whopping 21-0 victory over Legacy Charter on Thursday night in Montverde.
The game started out slow for Legacy with zero base runners in the top of the first inning. In the bottom of the first inning, John Martinez started out strong for Montverde Academy with his first hit being a double. Then in the second inning, Anthony Cole drilled a home run putting Montverde Academy up even further.
Pitcher, Christian Borbely, had three straight strikeouts in the second inning to send the Eagles to bat their big bottom of the second inning. Montverde Academy started to run away with the game by scoring 15 runs in that inning
The Eagles scored three more runs in the top of the third, and the game was called short after Legacy Charter batted in the top of the fourth due to the run differential.
"This was a game we weren't supposed to have right now (due to a tournament being canceled)," head coach Victor Valencia said. "But we just try and be prepared the same every game and always to attack the opponent no matter who the team is."
The Eagles are now 12-1 this season and return to action on Tuesday for a game in Davenport, FL against Glenbrook North at 6:00 pm.
