Montverde Academy had a big 11-1 win Thursday night at home against The Meldon High School Vikings from New York.
Eric Correa had a big game with three hits. He also had two RBI's along with John Martinez and Fabian Ayala. Christian Borbely pitched to start the game and got the win. He struck out 10 batters and only gave up one run. Brady Appel pitched the last inning and struck out all three batters.
MVA took a commanding 7-0 lead in the first inning and led start to finish.
Montverde Academy Head Coach Victor Valencia quoted after the game, "I keep my game plans the same with all the opponents," he said.
He took out the starters to give the team rest since they have a few games coming up soon. He feels good about the game, his team's play, and wants to continue to be successful.
"I felt good about my performance," Correa said after the game. He says he had a slow start to the year, but he is glad that he has picked things up as the season has progressed. He wants to continue to help the team out, stay confident, and stay positive.
MVA has now moved to 16-1 and are currently a top 25 team in the nation. Things are looking good for the Eagles moving forward.
