The Montverde Academy softball team improved to 2-0 on the season after defeating Lake Highland Prep 15-0 at the MVA Softball Complex on Thursday evening.
The game ended after just three plus innings via the 15 run mercy rule.
MVA jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the first inning. After a clean bottom of the second inning, the Eagles scored three more runs in the bottom of the third to lead 11-0. Then MVA started the fourth inning by scoring four times to earn the 15-run four inning win.
Leila Susaia had a great game, going 3-for-3 with a triple and three runs and two runs batted in, while Ari Jimenez was 2-for-3 with a run. Elena Friedman went 2-for-3 with two runs and two runs batted in.
Emerson Gunkel pitched four innings, allowed just one hit and struck out four.
MVA is back in action on Friday for a game at Windermere High School at 4:00 pm.
