The Montverde Academy softball team improved to 13-3 overall this season after a 10-1 win at Trinity Prep on Tuesday afternoon in Winter Park.
Danika Spinogatti went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and two runs batted in, while Ari Jimenez went 2-for-3 and scored three times. Elena Friedman was 2-for-4 with a double and a run batted in, while Lexi Perez was 1-for-4 with a home run.
The Eagles scored twice in the top of the first inning to lead early. MVA scored two more times in the top of the third to lead 4-0. After the host Saints scored a run in the bottom of the third, the Eagles scored a run in the top of the fifth to go ahead 5-1 and another in the top of the sixth to lead 6-1. MVA then scored four more times in the top of the seventh to put the game out of reach.
Nevaeh Williams earned the complete game shutout, going 7.0 innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out 11.
The Eagles return to the diamond on Wednesday for a home game against Bishop Moore Catholic at 6:00 pm.
