Softball Wins Three of Four at Bartow Tournament

Playing against some of the best high school softball teams the state of Florida has to offer, the Montverde Academy softball team had a tremendous showing winning three of four games at the Bartow Home of Champions Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, the Eagles beat Plant City High School 10-3, before falling 1-0 to host Bartow High School in the second game. Then on Saturday, MVA opened the day with a 6-0 victory over Coral Reef, before pulling out a 1-0 win in eight innings against Inspiration Academy.

After winning three of four, the Eagles are now 9-3 overall this season.

At the plate, Taboas, Jimenez, Danika Spinogatti and Leila Susaia had two hits each in the win.

Game 4: MVA 1 Inspiration Academy 0 (8 innings)
In the final game of the weekend, a well-pitched game by both teams found the event scoreless after seven innings.

The Eagles scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth when Taboas put down a bunt to score Williams from third.
