Montverde, FL (September 17, 2024) – Montverde Academy is thrilled to honor Cobi Wu as its Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 15, 2024. Wu, an eleventh grader on the boys swim team, showcased exceptional skill and determination, leading to remarkable performances in the Eagles' recent win over Berkeley Prep this past Saturday.
Wu's impressive achievements included winning three of the four races he competed in. Notably, he set a new Montverde Academy pool record in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:00.57. He also secured victory in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:05.82. Additionally, Wu played a crucial role in the 200-meter medley relay, where he, along with teammates Paolo de Fabrique, Jayden Chan, and Ethan Huynh, set another new Montverde Academy pool record with a time of 1:50.70.
Cobi Wu, who hails from Hong Kong, has been an amazing student-athlete in the pool. Two years ago he was named MVA's ninth grade male Student-Athlete of the Year, before following that up as the tenth grade male Student-Athlete of the Year last year.
His favorite aspects of being a student at Montverde Academy includes the friendships he has developed.

Wu and the rest of the Eagles return to action on Friday September 27 and Saturday September 28 for the prestigious Florida Swim Pool Association (FSPA) Invitational in Ocala, Florida.
