The Montverde Academy boys and girls swim teams dominated their season opening meets at Lake Highland Prep on Saturday morning.
The Montverde Academy girls' team earned a 175-97 win over Cornerstone, a 168-118 victory over Foundation Academy, a 155-126 triumph over Lake Highland Prep, and a 174-115 win over Windermere Preparatory School. On the boys' side, the Eagles won 157-136 against Lake Highland Prep School, 198-89 against Foundation Academy, 222-52 against Cornrstone, and 198-96 against Windermere Preparatory School. Both teams kicked off their seasons with a 4-0 records to start.
On the girls' side, the Eagles finished first in 12 of 13 races. Individually, Alejandra Ordonez earned wins in the 100 yard freestyle (53.61) and 200 yard freestyle (1:57.77), while Ivanka Bukele was victorious in the 50 yard breaststroke (31.83) and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:09.10). Stella Belmore won the 50 yard backstroke (28.65) and the 100 yard backstroke, while Cassandra Jokes was the winner in the 50 yard butterfly (27.48) and the 100 yard butterfly (1:00.51).
On the boys' side, Jayden Chan won the 100 yard freestyle (49.04) and Cobi Wu won the 50 yard breaststroke (27.66). Heitor Tinoco was victorious in the 50 yard butterfly (24.37) and the 50 yard freestyle (22.07), while Paolo de Fabrique won the 100 yard backstroke (56.96).
The Eagles are back in action this Sunday, September 14th for match at home against Berkeley Prep at 9:00 am
