The Montverde Academy boys and girls swimming teams opened their 2026 seasons with strong performances in a four-team meet against Winter Park, Boone and The Geneva School on Wednesday.

The MVA girls swept their three dual-meet matchups, defeating Winter Park 188-95, Boone 203-81 and Geneva 205-68. The Eagles won all 11 girls swimming events, including all three relays.

The Montverde Academy boys finished the meet with a 2-1 record. The Eagles defeated Boone 171-107 and Geneva 190.5-17.5 while falling to Winter Park 180-105.

Alejandra Ordonez, Cielo Moya and Maria Castro each earned two individual victories for the girls. Moya won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly, while Ordonez captured the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle. Castro swept the 200-yard individual medley and 500-yard freestyle.

Stella Belmore added a victory in the 100-yard backstroke, while Mariana Bustamante won the 100-yard breaststroke.

On the boys' side, Heitor Tinoco led an MVA sweep of the top three positions in the 50-yard freestyle, winning in 21.40 seconds. Gustavo Fidalgo captured the 100-yard freestyle, Arthur Romero Rabello won the 500-yard freestyle and the Eagles placed first in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The Eagles also finished second in the 400-yard freestyle relay as Fidalgo, Ethan Huynh, Romero Rabello and Tinoco combined for a time of 3:19.98.
