Montverde, Fla. (July 23, 2026) – Following one of the most successful seasons in program history, the Montverde Academy boys and girls swimming teams have added another remarkable accomplishment to their resume.
The National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) recognized all six MVA relay teams as 2025-26 High School All-Americans, while Cobi Wu also earned individual All-America honors in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The recognition is awarded annually to the nation's fastest high school performances, with Montverde Academy placing seven performances among the country's Top 100.
Boys Relays
The Eagles' 200-yard medley relay of Paolo de Fabrique, Cobi Wu, Jayden Davis and Heitor Tinoco posted the nation's 97th-fastest time of 1:33.14.
MVA's 200-yard freestyle relay featuring Jayden Chan, Heitor Tinoco, Zac Holmes and Lucas Paez finished 45th nationally after swimming 1:23.67.
The 400-yard freestyle relay of Lucas Paez, Jayden Chan, Zac Holmes and Paolo de Fabrique earned the nation's 43rd-fastest time at 3:04.55. Ethan Huynh, who competed during the relay's preliminary swim, also earned All-America recognition as an alternate.
Girls Relays
The girls' 200-yard medley relay of Stella Belmore, Mariana Bustamante, Layla Busby and Kayra Tati ranked 95th nationally with a time of 1:45.15.
The 200-yard freestyle relay consisting of Alejandra Ordonez, Maria Castro, Layla Busby and Kayra Tati finished 53rd nationally in 1:33.15.
MVA's 400-yard freestyle relay of Alejandra Ordonez, Maria Fernandez, Stella Belmore and Maria Castro placed 87th nationally after touching in 3:29.39.
Individual All-American
Wu also earned NISCA Individual All-America honors in the 100-yard breaststroke, posting the nation's 91st-fastest time of 55.65.
Historic Achievement
All seven qualifying performances were recorded during the FHSAA Class 1A State Championships at the FAST Center in Ocala last November, where both the MVA boys and girls teams captured state runner-up team finishes.
The honors mark a milestone in program history. It is the first time MVA's boys program has produced NISCA All-America relay selections and the second time the girls program has earned the distinction.
The Eagles' previous All-America relay came in 2023, when Ivanka Bukele, Cassandra Jones, Emily Santos and Regina Torres earned recognition in the 200-yard medley relay after recording a time of 1:44.68, which ranked 66th nationally that season.
With seven All-America performances recognized nationwide, the 2025-26 season further cemented MVA's place among the nation's elite high school swimming programs.
