The Montverde Academy boys and girls swimming teams combined for a perfect afternoon Saturday, sweeping Lake Minneola High School, Rockledge High School and Windermere Preparatory School in a quad meet at the MVA Aquatic Center.

The MVA girls defeated Lake Minneola, 188-83, Windermere Prep, 200-81, and Rockledge, 200-24. The boys earned a 163-121 victory over Lake Minneola, a 189-92 win against Windermere Prep and a 205-43 triumph over Rockledge.

With the sweep, the girls improved to 6-0 in dual-meet competition this season, while the boys moved to 5-1.

The MVA girls won nine of the meet's 11 events. Cielo Moya won the 50-meter freestyle in 26.76 and the 100-meter butterfly in 1:03.59. Alejandra Ordonez captured the 100-meter freestyle in 58.81.

Maria Castro won the 200-meter individual medley in 2:26.76 and the 400-meter freestyle in 4:37.93. Stella Belmore earned the victory in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:04.96, while Maria Clara Fernandes won the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:24.02.

The girls also earned victories in the 200-meter medley relay, 200-meter freestyle relay and 400-meter freestyle relay.

The MVA boys collected seven event victories. Arthur Romero Rabello swept the 200- and 400-meter freestyle events with times of 1:59.33 and 4:17.91, respectively.

Heitor Tinoco won the 50-meter freestyle in 23.35 and the 100-meter freestyle in 53.43. Ethan Huynh earned the victory in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:01.39.

The boys also swept the freestyle relays. Gustavo Fidalgo, Huynh, Romero Rabello and Joao Olimpio de Souza won the 200-meter freestyle relay in 1:40.22 and the 400-meter freestyle relay in 3:40.10.

Montverde Academy returns to the pool Friday, September 18, when the Eagles host Timber Creek High School for Senior Night at 5 p.m.
