Montverde, Fla. (October 14, 2025) – Montverde Academy has named junior Bianca Baquerizo as its Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 12, 2025.
Baquerizo played a key role in helping the Eagles close out their 2025 regular season with a pair of road victories. Montverde Academy swept Trinity Prep 3-0 last Tuesday and followed it up with another 3-0 win at South Lake on Thursday.
In the win over Trinity Prep, Baquerizo was efficient at the net, recording three kills (zero errors) on seven attempts for a .429 hitting percentage. She followed that with eight kills (one error) on 17 attempts for a .412 hitting percentage in the victory at South Lake.
Through 20 regular season matches, Baquerizo ranks second on the team in kills (163) and second in attack percentage (.269), showcasing her consistency and impact on the court.
A member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Baquerizo says she loves Montverde Academy because it allows her to meet people from all over the world and be part of a diverse, welcoming community.

Montverde Academy finished the regular season with a 15-5 record and now turns its attention to the FHSAA District Tournament this week. The Eagles enter as the No. 1 seed and will face Taylor High School on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at The Villages Charter School. The district championship match is scheduled for Thursday at 7:00 p.m. against either The Villages Charter or Umatilla.
