The Montverde Academy boys and girls golf teams are heading to the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) State Championship this weekend, November 14–15, at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, as both programs look to cap their seasons with championship performances.

The boys golf team advanced to the state championship match after finishing tied for second out of 12 teams at the regional championship held November 3 at Seven Springs Golf Course in Trinity, Florida. The Eagles secured their state berth in dramatic fashion, defeating Circle Christian in a one-hole playoff to punch their ticket to Howey-in-the-Hills.

The boys posted a team score of 288, led by outstanding rounds of 71 (-1) from Michael Frasure, Hung Khanh Le, and Byungchan Yoon, who each finished under par on the 18-hole course. The Eagles will now compete on the El Campeón course at Mission Inn, one of the most challenging and storied layouts in Florida, as they aim to bring home the program's first state title.

On the girls side, the defending state champion Eagles are back in the field and looking to repeat. MVA finished third at regionals with a team score of 293 and earned an at-large bid into the state championship. Leading the way was Cassy Zhu, who delivered a stellar performance to win the individual regional title with a five-under-par 67 at Seven Springs.

The girls will compete on the Las Colinas course at Mission Inn, where they'll look to build on their strong season and defend their championship crown.

Both programs have displayed consistency, depth, and championship poise throughout the fall, and this weekend's state tournament provides another opportunity to showcase their skill and resilience against the best teams in Florida.
