The Montverde Academy boys' and girls' track & field teams delivered strong performances at the prestigious Louie Bing Invitational in Miami on February 14 and 15. Leading the way were Will Moss and Nakira Hudson, who both secured individual victories in their respective events.
Moss dominated the 3200-meter run, crossing the finish line in 9:26.41 to claim first place for the Eagles. Hudson showcased her speed in the 400-meter dash, winning the event with a stellar time of 55.08 seconds, further solidifying Montverde Academy's reputation for excellence on the track.
The girls' team had an impressive overall showing, finishing fourth out of 34 teams. In addition to Hudson's victory, standout performances included Dasia Reed's second-place finish in the 200-meter dash (24.03) and Lexi Fraser's runner-up placement in the 800-meter run (2:15.01). The pole vault team also had a strong showing, with Kylee Brown and Julia Saelg tying for second place at 3.15 meters, followed closely by Natalie Grausam in fourth at the same height.
On the boys' side, Montverde Academy finished ninth out of 37 teams. Alongside Moss's triumph in the 3200 meters, Miles Outerbridge put on a strong performance in the 200-meter dash, finishing second in the finals with a time of 21.75. In the pole vault, Max Georgiev secured a second-place finish, clearing 3.45 meters.
Montverde Academy's athletes continue to impress as they build momentum for the rest of the season, with their performances at the Louie Bing Invitational proving they can compete at a high level against elite competition. Their next event is on March 1st at the Mount Dora Christian Invitational in Mount Dora, Florida.
