MAIST Results: Day Three

Game 9: Episcopal defeated Oviedo 6-1

Episcopal defeated Ovideo 6-1 in the first game of day three of MAIST.

Amelia Oreair was 1-for-2 with a pair of runs and runs batted in to lead the way for Episcopal, while Emily Davidson was 1-for-2 with a run batted in. Claire Cinnamond, Riley Valient and Chase Martino also had one hit each in the win.

Valient also pitched well, allowing one run on three hits, while striking out nine.

Ansley DeVos was 1-for-3 with a run batted in for Ovideo, while Sarah Cannistraci and Scarlett Griffiths had one hit each.

Jodi Skinner took the loss after pitching 3.0 innings and allowing five runs (three earned).


Game 10: Middleburg defeated Cornerstone Charter Academy 11-2

Middleburg High School defeated Cornerstone Charter Academy 11-2 on the second game of the third day of the MAIST tournament.

The Broncos pouned out 12 hits in the win, including three each  by Kerra Clarida and Cloey Ballinger. Mallory Ficklin added two hits for Middleburg. Ballinger also scored three times and drove in a pair of runs. KK Hagan had a team-high three runs batted in.

Ballinger pitched 5.2 innings and allowed one run on two hits and struck out nine.

Cornerstone Charter Academy was led by Emma Pynes who was 1-for-3 with a run and Olivia Nogueras who was 1-for-3 with a run.

Kaitlyn Tracy sufered the loss for Cornerstone going 4.0 innings and allowing five runs on nine hits.
 

Game 11: Winter Springs defeated Oakleaf 3-1

Winter Springs scored three runs in the first two innings and led from start to finish in a 3-1 victory over Oakleaf in the third place game.

Summer Mason went 2-for-2 with a run, while Adison Pierce was 1-for-2 with a run and two runs batted in.

Madison Barahona earned the win, pitching 5.2 innings and aloing one (unearned) run on three hits. Tiffany Seeman pitched the final 1.1 innings of relief and earned a four out save.

Oakleaf's lone run came in the top of the fifth, and the Knights were limited to a run on four hits in the contest.

Desiree Norris went 1-for-3 with a run for Oakleaf.

Oakleaf pitcher Charlotte Maddox allowed three runs on six hits in defeat.
 

Game 12: Montverde Academy 15 East Lake 0

Montverde Academy made quick work in the championship game by beating East Lake High School 15-0.

Elena Friedman was 2-for-3 with a double, a grand slam home run and six runs batted in. Meanwhile Luna Taboas, Addison Poe, Leila Susaia and Colby Reish had two hits each.

Nevaeh Williams pitched 3.0 innings and struck out five in the three inning contest.

Anna Folger went 2-for-2 in the loss for East Lake.

Lucy Mondok suffered the loss after going 1.0 inning and allowing seven runs (four earned) on five hits.
