Montverde Academy baseball fell to John Carroll Catholic 4-2 in game two of the best of three series in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) regional championship.
With the loss, the Montverde Academy season comes to an end. The Eagles went 16-11 overall in 2025.
In Tuesday loss, the host Rams scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. But MVA responded with a pair of runs of its own to tie the score.
The game remained 2-2 into the sixth inning when John Carroll Catholic scored two more runs to take a 4-2 lead and win by that score.
Alejandro Osorio went 1-for-3 with a run batted in, while Jonathan Valdez went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Arnaldo Gonzalez was 1-for-2 and scored a run. Meanwhile Max Irving, Pablo Borbely and Danati Fronduto had one hit each.
Tyler Severs suffered the loss after going 6.0 innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and struck out four.
