Montverde, FL (July 10, 2025) – Montverde Academy is pleased to announce the hiring of Jose Davila as its new Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Program Development.
Davila will oversee compliance efforts across all sports programs, support coaching staff development, and lead initiatives to enhance student-athlete experiences while ensuring the highest standards of academic and athletic excellence.
Davila brings a strong background in athletics administration, education, and coaching to Montverde Academy. Most recently, he served as an Athletic Director and physical education teacher at Pinecrest Lakes Prep, where he was responsible for developing and implementing its athletics department's vision, policies, and goals, while ensuring compliance with school, conference, and state athletic regulations. His leadership also extended to fundraising, staff development, scheduling, and fostering academic success among student-athletes.
Prior to that, Davila served as Dean for Union Park Elementary School, where he worked closely with teachers, students, and parents to promote student engagement, achievement, and character development. Davila's experience also includes serving as physical education teacher and a coach for its boys and girls basketball teams at Horizon West Middle School from 2019-23.
Davila-Colon is a 2018 graduate of the University of Central Florida, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Exercise Science. Prior to that he attended Missouri Southern University from 2010-11 and the University of West Florida from 2008-10. He was a member of the men's basketball team while at both institutions.
