The Montverde Academy boys' and girls' swim teams performed exceptionally well during their home meet against The Benjamin School and Windermere Preparatory School on Saturday, September 6.
The Montverde Academy girls' team achieved a 160–117 victory over Windermere Prep and a 143–123 win against Benjamin.On the boys' side, the Eagles secured a 210–76 victory over Windermere Prep and a 200–73 triumph over Benjamin.
On the girls' side, the Eagles were spearheaded by Alejandra Ordonez, who triumphed in the 200 freestyle (2:11.16) and the 100 freestyle (59.45). Stella Belmore won the 100 backstroke (1:05.03) and played a crucial role in Montverde's pool-record-setting 200 medley relay (2:01.42). Kayra Tati secured a win in the 50 freestyle (27.52), while Mariana Bustamante Garcia took first place in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.49). Maria Fernandez contributed significantly with runner-up finishes in the 100 butterfly (1:04.03) and other impressive performances.
In the 200 Medley Relay, Stella Belmore, Mariana Bustamante, Layla Busby and Kayra Tati earned the win in pool record time of 2:01.42. In the 200 Freestyle Relay Alejandra Ordonez, KayraTati, Maria Fernandez and Mariana Bustamante won in pool record time of 1:51.10. In the 400 Freestyle Relay Maria Fernandez, Layla Busby, Alejandra Ordonez and Stella Belmore won in pool record time of 4:04.51.
On the boys' side, Jayden Chan achieved victories in the 100 butterfly (58.06) and the 200 medley relay (1:49.07, setting a new pool record), while also collaborating for the record-setting 200 freestyle relay (1:35.75). Heitor Tinoco showcased his talent with wins in the 50 freestyle (23.41) and 100 backstroke (1:02.75). Zac Holmes won the 100 freestyle (52.62), and Cobi Wu claimed victory in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.41). Paolo de Fabrique also distinguished himself with a win in the 200 IM (2:14.45).
In the Medley Relay Paolo de Fabrique, Cobi W, Davis Jayden and Heitor Tinoco won in pool record time of 1:49.07.In the 200 Freestyle Relay Jayden Chan, Zac Holmes, Lucas Paez and Heitor Tinoco won in pool record 1:35.75. In the 400 Medler Relay Jayden Chan, Zac Holmes, Paolo de Fabrique and Lucas Paez won in pool record time 3:35.55.
The Eagles return to competion on Friday September 26, at home against Lake Mineola and South Lake at 5:00pm
