The Montverde Academy softball team delivered an explosive performance Wednesday evening, rolling to an 18-1 victory over Horizon High School in a three-inning mercy-rule win.
Montverde Academy wasted little time setting the tone. The Eagles pushed across one run in the top of the first inning before erupting for 11 runs in the second to take a commanding 12-0 lead. MVA added six more runs in the third inning, stretching the advantage to 18-0 before Horizon scored once in the bottom half of the frame to account for the final margin.
It was a dominant night at the plate for the Eagles.
Colby Reish powered the offense with a huge performance, going 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and six runs batted in.
