Montverde, FL (February 24, 2026) -- The Montverde Academy softball program will welcome top competition from across Florida and the nation this week as it hosts the annual Montverde Academy Invitational Softball Tournament (MAIST), scheduled for Thursday, February 26 through Saturday, February 28 on the Montverde Academy campus.
The three-day event will feature eight teams competing in a round-robin format, with each team guaranteed three games. Daily game times are scheduled for 12:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 7:30 p.m., providing a full slate of high-level softball action throughout the tournament.
Participating teams include Montverde Academy along with J.J. Pearce High School (Richardson, Texas), IMG Academy (Bradenton), Foundation Academy (Winter Garden), Episcopal School of Jacksonville, Middleburg, Winter Springs, and Fort Myers.
Montverde Academy enters the tournament ranked No. 7 nationally and No. 1 in the state of Florida, and the Eagles will be looking to continue their dominance in the event after winning the tournament championship in each of the past three years. Montverde Academy is off to a strong start this season with a 2-0 record, highlighted by a 4-0 victory over Calvary Christian on February 17 and an 18-1 win over Horizon High School on February 18.

Fans can attend the tournament with a $10 daily ticket, which provides admission to all four games scheduled that day. Parking on campus is free.
All tournament games will be streamed live on the NFHS Network (subscription required), allowing fans who cannot attend in person to follow the action throughout the weekend.
With nationally ranked Montverde Academy hosting a strong field and a full schedule of games each day, the Montverde Academy Invitational Softball Tournament promises to showcase some of the region's top softball talent and provide an exciting weekend of competition.
"The MAIST tournament is going to be a blast this year. We've pulled a few new teams in and are excited to compete against some of the best softball programs around," said head softball coach Kahley Armstrong. "The girls are ready to fight and bring home another MAIST championship."
