Montverde Academy baseball capped off its time in the Bishop Moore Spring Break Tournament with an exciting 8-7 victory over Monsignor Pace in nine innings on Friday afternoon in Orlando, securing a third-place finish.

Michael Alicea delivered the decisive moment, hitting a solo home run in the top of the ninth, to give Montverde Academy the lead and eventual win.

Odanyx Ofarril shu the door in relief, earning the win after tossing a strong 2.1 innings to help secure the victory.

With the win, the Eagles improve to 11-5 on the season.

Montverde Academy will return to action on Monday with a road matchup at South Sumter. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
