The Montverde Academy baseball team fell at home on Wednesday evening, dropping a 14-0 decision to Stony Brook School in five innings due to the 10-run rule.
Stony Brook took immediate control of the game, plating five runs in the top of the first inning and never looking back. The early surge set the tone as Montverde Academy worked to settle in throughout the remainder of the contest.
The Eagles' lone hit of the evening came off the bat of Max Irving with a third inning single.
Sid Goecke suffered the loss on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings and allowing seven runs (five earned) on six hits.
With the result, Montverde Academy moves to 7-3 on the season. The Eagles will look to bounce back on Tuesday, March 10, when they travel to face Trinity Prep at 6:00 p.m.
