Boys Basketball Wins Nike EYBL Scholastic Eastern Division Regular Season Championship

The Montverde Academy boys basketball team captured the 2025–26 Eastern Division Regular Season Championship in the Nike EYBL Scholastic after posting a perfect 9-0 record in divisional play and finishing 11-3 overall in the conference.

The Eagles' dominant performance throughout divisional play secured first place in the Eastern Division and earned themselves a first-round bye in the upcoming Nike EYBL Scholastic Conference Tournament in North Augusta South Carolina from March 12-15.

MVA will begin tournament play in the quarterfinal round on Friday, March 13 at 12:00 p.m., where the Eagles will face the winner of Thursday's first-round matchup between CIA Bella Vista and Long Island Lutheran. That game is scheduled for Thursday, March 12 at 11:00 a.m., with the winner advancing to face MVA the next day.

If the Eagles advance past the quarterfinal round, they will move on to the semifinals on Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m., where they would face either Sunrise Christian Academy, Spire Academy, or Link Academy. The championship game of the conference tournament is scheduled for Sunday, March 15 at 12:00 p.m.

Montverde Academy enters the postseason with an impressive 21-5 overall record. After beginning the season 0-3, the Eagles found their rhythm and went on an outstanding run, winning 21 of their final 23 games heading into the conference tournament.

Balanced scoring has been a key factor in Montverde's success this season. Five Eagles are averaging at least nine points per game, led by Dhani Miller, who is averaging 15.4 points per game. He is followed by Oneal Delancy (14.0 ppg), Joe Philon III (11.6 ppg), Derek Daniels (10.6 ppg), and Javion Tyndale (9.4 ppg). The team's depth and offensive balance have allowed MVA to consistently produce scoring from multiple positions throughout the season.

The Eagles' success this season continues the long-standing tradition of excellence for the Montverde Academy boys basketball program. MVA has won eight national championships and has developed one of the most respected  boys' high school basketball programs in the country, producing numerous alumni who have gone on to play at the collegiate level and professional levels, many of which have played in the National Basketball Association.
