SIMA alumni continued to make their presence felt across collegiate soccer during the week of August 31–September 6, with several alumni making key contributions for their respective programs.
The week was highlighted by a dominant performance from Mouhamed Pouye and Malang Mandiang at UTRGV, while alumni across Division I and Division III also recorded goals, assists and important minutes.
Pouye and Mandiang Lead UTRGV to 5-0 Victory
Mouhamed Pouye and Malang Mandiang delivered standout performances for UTRGV on Sept. 6, helping the Vaqueros cruise to a 5-0 victory over South Florida.
Pouye scored UTRGV's third goal of the match in the 34th minute. The SIMA alum played all 90 minutes and finished with four shots, including two on goal, as UTRGV's attack produced five goals in the shutout victory.
Mandiang was instrumental throughout the match, recording two assists. He helped set up UTRGV's opening goal just 24 seconds into the match before assisting Pouye's goal later in the first half.
The two SIMA alumni were directly involved in three of UTRGV's five goals, helping the Vaqueros earn one of their most convincing victories of the young season.
Franklin Affanyi Records Assist in Maryland Victory
Franklin Affanyi continued his strong start to the season for Maryland, recording an assist in the Terrapins' 4-3 victory over Delaware on Sept. 4.
Affanyi assisted on Albi Ndrenika's opening goal in the sixth minute, helping Maryland establish an early lead.
The performance added another early-season offensive contribution for Affanyi as Maryland continued its strong start to the 2026 season.
Osei Gyamfi Provides Game-Winning Assist for UNCW
Osei Gyamfi played a key role in UNCW's 1-0 victory over Elon on Sept. 5.
Gyamfi was credited with an assist on Jake Roberts' seventh-minute game-winning goal, helping the Seahawks secure the victory in their conference opener.
The assist marked another early-season contribution for the SIMA alum as UNCW continued its unbeaten start to the season.
Mohammed Ibrahim Assists VCU's Late Equalizer
Mohammed Ibrahim came through with a crucial assist in VCU's 1-1 draw against High Point on Sept. 2.
With VCU trailing late in the match, Ibrahim assisted Kimarly Scott's 88th-minute equalizer, helping the Rams earn a point on the road.
Ibrahim also recorded a shot in the match as VCU battled back to secure the draw.
Dani Fluck Lozano Scores in Rowan Victory
Dani Fluck Lozano made an impact for Rowan in the Profs' 2-0 victory over Dickinson on Sept. 4.
Fluck Lozano scored Rowan's opening goal in the 77th minute, helping the Profs break through late in the match. Rowan added a second goal to secure the shutout victory and improve to 2-0-0 on the season.
The goal marked a strong offensive contribution from the SIMA alum early in Rowan's 2026 campaign.
Five SIMA Alumni Take the Field for VCU
Five SIMA alumni saw action for VCU in the Rams' Sept. 6 matchup against No. 15 Marshall.
Jordan Cheetham, Bya Ndimubandi, Parker Simkins, Mohammed Ibrahim and David Leavey all appeared in the match.
Cheetham played the full 90 minutes, while Ndimubandi played 70 minutes and recorded a shot on goal. Simkins played 50 minutes, while Ibrahim and Leavey each played 46 minutes. Leavey also recorded a shot.
Marshall ultimately earned a 3-1 victory, but the match highlighted the continued presence of SIMA alumni within the VCU program.
Gianluca Franco Provides Assist for Purdue Northwest
Gianluca Franco contributed an assist in Purdue Northwest's 1-1 draw against Quincy on Sept. 2.
Franco assisted Ricardo Cruz's 77th-minute goal, giving Purdue Northwest a 1-0 lead before Quincy found an equalizer late in the match.
The assist gave Franco another offensive contribution as the Lions continued their early-season campaign.
Abdou Mane Appears in Two Clemson Victories
Abdou Mane saw action in both of Clemson's victories during the week.
Mane played 8:49 in Clemson's 4-1 victory over UCF on Sept. 1 before appearing for another 5 minutes in the Tigers' 1-0 ACC-opening victory over Syracuse on Sept. 4.
The two victories helped Clemson continue its strong start to the season, with Mane contributing valuable minutes off the bench in both matches.
