Montverde Academy girls volleyball fell to Trinity Catholic in three sets, 25-22, 25-14 and 25-14, on Thursday night.

The Eagles kept the opening set close before Trinity Catholic pulled out a 25-22 win. MVA finished with eight team blocks against a strong opponent but could not turn the match around.

Janiyah Miller led MVA with seven kills, three blocks, four digs and an ace. Gabi Carvalho added seven kills and a team-high five blocks. Bianca Baquerizo recorded five kills and four blocks, Natalia Baquerizo had five kills and a block, and Suhmer Henriques contributed three kills, three blocks and seven digs.

Earlier in the evening, MVA's junior varsity team defeated Trinity Catholic in straight sets, 27-25 and 25-13.
