Broadcasted on ESPNU our boys Montverde Academy basketball team defeated the No.5 nationally ranked Oak Hill Academy 76-51 on Saturday, February 2.
Junior Cade Cunningham led the Eagles with 26 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds. Not only did Cunningham earn the game MVP Trophy, but also shut down Oak Hill's five-star senior point guard Cole Anthony who only made only 2-of-14 shot attempts for the game.

"Cade really showed great leadership early in recognizing defenses and getting us into plays we wanted," said Head Coach Kevin Boyle in an interview with Daily Commercial. "He did a good job controlling the pace of the game."
Senior Precious Achiuwa also played an integral part in MVA's big win. He scored 25 points and paired it with 9 rebounds. The Eagles led from start to finish but it was in the third quarter where they started to pull away. Â MVA went on a 22-8 third-quarter run that included six dunks. A couple of those dunks belonged to precious who consistently gives the team the extra competitive edge according to Boyle.
The Eagles will now head to New Jersey to play in the Metro Classic where they will face Ranney High School and Roselle Catholic High School on February 8-9.Â
