The Montverde Academy boys' and girls' swim teams opened their 2022 seasons in dominant fashion on Friday afternoon as both Eagles teams went 3-0 at the Trinity Prep quad meet. The boys defeated host Trinity Prep 152-142, Lake Highland Prep 192-94 and Episcopal School 162-118. Meanwhile, the girls defeated Trinity Prep 193-90, Lake Highland Prep 201-93 and Episcopal School 192-96.

On the boys side, the Eagles picked up victories in the 200 yard freestyle, 100 yard freestyle, 200 yard free relay and 100 yard backstroke.

In the 200 yard freestyle, Eli Giangreco earned the win (1:55.55), while Jayden Chan earned the win (51.75). in the 200 yard free relay, the team of Alexander Block, Eli Giangreco, Jayden Chan and Thomas Merchan earned the victory (1:33.62). Then the 100 yard backstroke, Paolo de Fabrique finished first (1:00.57).

On the girls side of things, the Eagles earned a combined nine wins in the 11 races at the meet.

In the 200 yard medley relay, Regina Torres, Emily Santos, Seannia Norville-Smith and Mariana Bustamante earned the win (1:49.06), while in the 200 yard freestyle, Biranna Monahan was victorious (2:00.30). In the 200 yard individual medley, Regina Torres was the winner (2:09.92). In the 50 yard freestyle, Seannia Norville-Smith got the win (26.66), while in the 100 yard freestyle, Zoe Xiao won (55.46). Then in the 200 yard free relay, Brianna Monahan, Alejandra Ordonez, Emily Santos and Zoe Xiao teamed up for the win (1:42.77). In the 100 yard backstroke, Regina Torres earned the victory (57.77), and in the 100 yard breaststroke, Emily Santos got the victory (1:07.12). Then in the 400 yard free relay, it was Regina Torres, Brianna Monahan, Alejandra Ordonez and Zoe Xiao teaming up for the win (3:39.41).

The Eagles boys' and girls' teams are back in action on Thursday for a tri-meet at Rockledge High School where the Eagles will take on the hosts and Viera High School.
