Montverde Academy boys' and girls' swim teams both earned a pair of wins on Wednesday afternoon as both teams picked up victories over West Orange High School and host Winter Park High School.

The girls earned a 178-174 win over Winter Park and a 177-165 victory against West Orange. The boys earned a 200-150 win against Winter Park and a 229-121 victory over West Orange.

With the wins, both teams improved to 5-0 on their respective seasons.

On the girls' side of the meet, in relay events, the team of Regina Torres, Emily Santos, Cassandra Jones and Ivanka Bukele earned a win in the 200 yard medley relay in 1:48.70.

In individual events, the Eagles had two wins by Torres and one by Santos. Torres earned a win in the 200 yard individual medley in 2:09.76 and she was victorious in the 100 yard backstroke in 58.04. Santos meanwhile was the winner in the 100 yard breaststroke in a time of 1:04.58.

On the boys' side of things, the Eagles swept all three relay races. First, the team of Paolo de Fabrique, Ting Yuk Cobi Wu, Adam Odler and Jayden Chan won the 200 yard medley relay in 1:39.97. Then in the 200 yard free relay, Chan, Wu, Alexander Block and Elian Giangreco were victorious in 1:31.23. In the 400 yard freestyle relay, Giangreco, Block, Odler and Lucas Paez were the winners in 3:20.52.

In individual races, five swimmers earned one win each. Giangreco was the winner of the 200 yard freestyle in 1:52.03, while Block won the 200 yard individual medley in 2:02.13. Odler won the 50 yard freestyle in 22.86 and Paez won the 500 yard freestyle in 5:04.08. de Fabrique earned the win in the 100 yard backstroke in 57.70.

The Eagles return to action on Wednesday, September 27 for the Citrus League Championship, hosted by Trinity Prep High School.
