Montverde, FL (January 27, 2025) – Some of the hottest high school basketball you will find throughout the United States will be happening in Montverde, Florida this weekend!
Montverde Academy is set to host its twenty-second Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament (MAIT) presented by Discover Lake County from Thursday, January 30, through Saturday, February 1. The three-day event will feature elite high school basketball teams competing for the championship in a who's who of high school basketball talent.
The prestigious tournament features highly skilled juggernaut programs from three different states, including Florida, Arizona and Utah, which include an abundance of Top 25 nationally ranked players in 2025, including the nation's number one ranked player AJ Dybantsa (Utah Prep).

Opening Night a Battle for Central Florida Supremacy:
The anticipation of the 2025 edition of the tournament starts out with a bang when Montverde Academy does battle with Central Florida rival Windermere Prep opening night at 8:00 pm.

- 2:00 PM – 7th Place Game (Game will be played in Roberts Gym)

Exciting Girls Basketball Action Too:
In addition to the tournament, the three-time defending national champion girls' basketball team will compete in a trio of games in conjunction with the tournament. MVA will play at 6:00 pm each day against formidable foes, including Fort Erie International, the only team to defeat Montverde Academy (18-1) this season:
- Thursday, January 30 at 6:00 PM: vs. Fort Erie International (Fort Erie, Ontario Canada)
- Friday, January 31 at 6:00 PM: vs. Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, NY)
- Saturday, February 1 at 6:00 PM: vs. Newman (Boston, MA)
Special Events and Entertainment:
In addition to high intensity basketball, fans in attendance will be treated to an abundance of celebrations and entertainment throughout the weekend
Fans in attendance will witness the returning players from the defending national champion girls' basketball team receive their 2023-24 national champion rings.
Performances will be made by The Pom Squad, the Lower School Cheer Team and the Central Florida Dreamplex Cheerleaders. Contests and giveaways throughout the weekend will also be a staple throughout MAIT
The Lower School Choir will perform the Star-Spangled Banner prior to the girls' games on Thursday and Friday, while Music Conservatory student Giavanna Parker will perform the Star Spangled Banner before the start of Saturday's championship game.
