Montverde, FL (December 9, 2025) – Montverde Academy has named Lola Rey of the girls varsity soccer team as its Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending December 7, 2025, following a pair of outstanding performances that helped the Eagles to two dominant road victories and extend their unbeaten start to the season.
Rey was a driving force in Montverde Academy's 3-0 shutout of Auburndale High School on December 2, scoring two of the team's three goals in the victory. She followed that performance with another goal in a 5-1 MVA win at Sunlake High School on December 3, continuing her strong scoring surge.
Through the first 10 games this season, Rey has a team leading 11 goals, tying her career high for goals in a single season, a mark she set last year. The Eagles currently sit at an impressive 9-0-1 overall on the season.
A member of the girls varsity soccer program since eighth grade, Rey has developed into one of the program's most reliable offensive threats. She has tallied 28 goals and eight assists in her MVA career, consistently impacting the game at the highest level.
Off the field, Rey values Montverde Academy's diverse community and takes pride in being surrounded by classmates and faculty from a wide range of cultures. Looking toward the future, she has aspirations in both the medical and creative fields, with interests in pursuing a career in physical therapy or graphic design, while also striving to compete at the professional level in soccer.
Driven by her competitive mindset and commitment to growth, Rey continues to push herself to reach new levels of performance, making her a vital contributor to Montverde Academy's success this season and beyond.
Rey and the rest of the MVA girls soccer team returns to the pitch on Thursday, December 11 for a match at Lourdes Academy for the first of a three-game trip in South Florida, which includes a game at Somerset Academy on December 12 and St. Thomas Aquinas on December 13.
