Montverde Academy Athletics Holds Pep Rally for Winter Sports

Montverde Academy athletics hosted an exciting pep rally on Wednesday afternoon in the Nest, bringing together the tennis, boys basketball, girls basketball, boys soccer, girls soccer and girls weightlifting teams to celebrate each program as the winter sports are in the midst of playoff runs, while the boys and girls basketball teams are set to compete at the Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament (MAIT).

The rally featured team introductions and special recognitions throughout the night. The boys basketball team kicked things off with an energetic entrance, running out of the tunnel before 5-9 point guard Javion Tyndale capped the moment with a powerful dunk, with assistance from some of his taller teammates. The performance drew loud cheers from students, coaches, and fellow basketball players.

Each team then had its moment to shine. The tennis team showcased its skills, highlighted by a between-the-legs shot from nationally ranked player Gareth Igesund. Both the girls and boys soccer teams followed with exciting skill demonstrations and celebrations, drawing enthusiastic reactions from the crowd.

"Today's pep rally was truly inspiring and full of energy," said Savannah Montes, assistant athletic director for game operations and events. "The level of student involvement was amazing, and it really brought everyone together while highlighting the drive and commitment of the Arts and Athletics Leadership Committee students. The pep rally was a powerful example of what can happen when students step up, support one another, and take pride in their work and their community."

The pep rally concluded with three competitive games featuring players from different teams, testing who was the most skillful winter sport. The teams exited the Nest to loud cheers from teachers, coaches, and students, celebrating their performances and the spirit of the 2025–26 Winter Pep Rally.
