Montverde, Fla. (June 11, 2026) – After turning in one of the most productive offensive seasons in program history, Montverde Academy senior baseball player Max Irving has been named an Orlando Sentinel All-Area Honorable Mention selection for the 2026 season.
Irving served as the Eagles' catalyst from the leadoff spot throughout the season, helping lead Montverde Academy to a 17-10 overall record, the program's first Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 2A District 6 championship since 2023, and a berth in the Region 2 semifinal round.
The senior shortstop led the Eagles in virtually every major offensive category during the 2026 campaign. Irving finished the season with a .474 batting average and a .622 on-base percentage while collecting 37 hits, 12 doubles, seven home runs, 28 RBIs, 38 runs scored, and 14 stolen bases.
His ability to consistently get on base and create scoring opportunities made him one of the most dangerous players in Central Florida and a key reason behind the Eagles' 2026 success.
Irving's standout senior season capped an impressive two-year career at MVA. Over 54 games with the Eagles, he compiled a .419 career batting average while recording 62 runs, 47 RBIs, 20 doubles, and 10 home runs.
In addition to his accomplishments on the field, Irving will continue his academic and athletic career at the University of South Florida, where he has committed to play collegiate baseball.
The Orlando Sentinel All-Area recognition serves as another accolade for a player whose impact was felt throughout the lineup and helped return MVA baseball to championship contention during the 2026 season.
