The Montverde Academy boys' and girls' cross country teams opened their seasons on Friday evening at the Cecil Field Summer Classic in Jacksonville, and the boys finished 35th of 38, while the girls finished 33rd of 35.

In the boys' race, Riley Novack was the Eagles' top finisher, finishing sixth overall of 329 runners in a final time of 15:35 over the five kilometer course. Meanwhile, in the girls' race, Carly McNatt finished fifteenth overall of 278 runners in a time of 19:08.
