The Montverde Academy girls' cross country team finished 21st of 33 teams at the HOKA flrunners.com Invitational at Holloway Park in Lakeland on Saturday morning.

Teammates Lyla McMillen and Alafair Scelfo were the co-leaders for MVA. McMillen was the Eagles top finisher by .80 seconds as she finished 66th overall of 268 runners in 21:06.00, while Scelfo was right behind, less than one second later, in 21:06.80. Angelica Wolfe was third for MVA and 86th overall in 21:44.98, while D'Asia Duncan was the fourth for MVA and 120th overall in 22:21.24. Juliette Carillo rounded out the top five by finishing 250th overall in 26:31.78.

Other participants for the Eagles were Stellie Bobilin who was 256th overall in 27:12.09 and Izzy McMillen who was 265th overall in 28:54.34.

MVA is back in action this Wednesday for the Citrus League Championship meet hosted by Trinity Prep School in Winter Park at 6:00 pm.
